Asbestos Surveys

Did you know that, by law, you are required to manage the asbestos within your work premises?

What happens if you don’t comply?

  • You would be in breach of Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006
  • You could be risking the health of anyone who works in or visits your premises

Reliable, efficient, comprehensive

Forest Environmental will carry out a detailed survey on your behalf to investigate whether there are any asbestos containing materials within the premises – and to assess the level of risk it poses.

Forest Environmental are a UKAS accredited inspection body, No 343. And as such Forest Environmental undergo a rigorous and ongoing assessment to ISO/IEC 17020 for an asbestos surveying organisation to ensure:

  1. the organisation is impartial
  2. employs technically competent staff
  3. has the appropriate resources and facilities
  4. performing to the required high standard

Current Guidance (HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide) identifies two different types of survey.  The type of Survey will vary during the lifespan of the premises and several may be needed.

Management Surveys: This will be required during the normal occupation and use of the building to ensure continued management of the Asbestos Containing Materials in situ.

Refurbishment/ Demolition: This type of Survey will be required when the building (or part of it) is to be upgraded, refurbished or demolished.

Once we’ve completed the survey, you will receive a comprehensive report detailing all the results, as well as the course of action we recommend you take.

You can then be confident that

  • you now comply with the latest legislation
  • your building poses no asbestos-related risk (once the remedial action is complete)
