Aimed at persons who work in a confined space with difficult entry and exit points, and may require breathing apparatus.

Aims

To enable the delegates to be aware of the risk and limitations when working in a confined space, reduce accidents and learn best practice.

  • Risk and injuries within a confined space – theory
  • Risk assessment – theory
  • Safe access and exits into a confined space – theory & practical 
  • Use of access equipment – theory & practical 
  • Atmospheres inside an confined space (different levels of oxygen and other gases) – theory 
  • Principals of atmosphere monitoring and control – theory & practical 
  • Safe use of breathing apparatus – theory & practical 

Assessment of delegates

  • 15 multiple-choice questionnaire
  • Tutor evaluation during practical session
